Applications for Academic Scholarships for students entering Year 7 in 2020 and 2021 are now open. These scholarships provide part remission of tuition fees

Luther College is pleased to offer a number of scholarships for academic excellence each year. The number and value of scholarships allocated are determined by the quality of applicants and the availability of places. These highly competitive and sought-after scholarships recognise and encourage academic potential and promote the pursuit of excellence. Applications to sit the Edutest Academic Scholarship Exam are now open.

Application Process

All applicants are required to sit the Edutest Academic Scholarship Exam, which will be held at Luther College on Saturday 23 February 2019 from 9.00am – 12 noon.

Click here or visit the Edutest website to complete your child’s registration and pay the application fee of $100 (per child).

Registration closes Friday 15 February 2019, any applications after this date will attract a late fee of $250. Once your registration is complete, Edutest will correspond directly with you to provide further information and details.

Please note: For students commencing Year 7 in 2021, the College is providing an earlier opportunity to apply for an academic scholarship, allowing scholarship offers to be made and enrolment confirmed during Term 1, 2019. A second opportunity will also be offered at the beginning of Year 6 (2020), which is traditionally when the College has held scholarship examinations. The examination paper used for Year 5 and Year 6 are different, so a student can sit the exam in Year 5, and if initially unsuccessful, sit again in Year 6.

This change gives families more time and greater support to make the right educational decision for them.

Terms and Conditions

• Luther College will accept scholarship applications from students with an accepted position at Luther College for Year 7 2020, as well as prospective applicants; however, any scholarship offer will be subject to the successful completion of both a formal application and interview. Applicants may also be asked to provide additional supporting information including but not limited to NAPLAN results and school reports.

• Academic Scholarships are offered to Australian citizens or permanent residents only.

• Scholarship testing is optional. Students with an accepted position at Luther College for Year 7 2020 or with a current application at Luther College for Year 7 2020 or 2021, do not have to take part in the scholarship testing program.

• Scholarships are tenable for the duration of a student’s time at Luther College. It should be noted that if the student was to transfer to another school before the end of Year 12, parents will be required to repay the scholarship percentage received from commencement to conclusion of the student’s enrolment.

• Scholarships do not cover the cost of application and entry fees, books, uniform, computers or other fees.

• All scholarships are subject to annual review to confirm that the academic and behaviour standards expected of a scholarship student have been maintained. All scholarship recipients will be expected to actively engage across many aspects of College life.

• Failure to meet school expectations may result in the discontinuation of the scholarship.

• To accept your child’s scholarship offer, a Student Bond in the amount of 10% of the Year 7 Scheduled Fee in the year of confirmation is payable upon acceptance of enrolment at Luther College. This is non-refundable and non-transferable.
